For the third year in a row, Vodafone staff, families and business partners - including more than 2,500 members of the public – participated in the Vodafone-sponsored Doha Dash organised to celebrate National Sport Day.
The Losail International Circuit played host to the event, which included a 5km and 3km timed race in addition to a ladies’ walk and a 1km mini Doha Dash for children, giving participants of all ages and abilities the opportunity to take part in the event.
“I’m delighted with our staff and the public’s enthusiastic participation in the activities. HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani’s initiative to promote sports and fitness in Qatar is of huge public value and something Vodafone is very supportive of,” said Kyle Whitehill, CEO, Vodafone Qatar.
“Vodafone Qatar has a history of supporting sport in Qatar, including our most recent sponsorship of this year’s Offshore Powerboat Qatar Cup and our long-time sponsorship of Al Sadd football club. We also promote sport and fitness within our employees through Vodafone’s Wellness Programme as we firmly believe in the benefits sport brings on both a community and individual level and will continue to promote this to help realise Qatar National Vision 2030,” Whitehill added.
For weeks leading up to the event, Vodafone helped employees prepare with regular training and nutrition tips.
