A number of International Bank of Qatar (IBQ) staff took part in the annual 3km race organised by Qatar Central Bank (QCB) to celebrate National Sport Day.
A large number of financial professionals participated in the race aimed at raising awareness on the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles.
The top finisher received QR10,000 in cash while the runners-up got QR1,000 each. Both men and women runners were divided into three categories: 18-30, 31-45, and over 46 years old.
IBQ staffers Ian Hudson and Rawan Malkawi finished second while Matthijs Westra and Ahmed al-Mughrabi finished seventh and tenth in their age categories.
“This is a great sport occasion that brings together industry professionals and the general public on a public holiday, being united in their efforts to highlight the fact that adopting a healthy lifestyle is key for us all,” said IBQ managing director Jabra Ghandour.
IBQ has long been a dedicated supporter of sports with its sponsorship of the Qatar Cricket Masters series for nine consecutive years and the annual HH The Emir’s Basketball Championship as well as many schools sports initiatives.
