Winners received their trophies and medals from Qatar Airways SVP (HR Employee Services) Nabeela Fakhri and Amiri Flight CEO Abdulla Johar at the National Sport Day celebration.
More than 2,000 employees of Qatar Airways Group have taken part in an exciting and fun-filled National Sport Day celebration at Al Sadd Sports Club.
The celebration also saw more than 800 children who joined various activities at the annual event.
Some of the participants included staff from Qatar Airways, Hamad International Airport, Qatar Duty Free, Qatar Airways Cargo, Qatar Aircraft Catering Company, Qatar Aviation Services and Qatar Amiri Flight.
A variety of sports competitions such as football, volleyball and basketball highlighted the festivity. Cricket, which attracted a large number of spectators, was the most popular sport at the event.
Children also enjoyed dedicated football training sessions with the football trainers as well as a Kids’ Activity Area where they had the chance to play with their peers in bouncy castles. Attendees received T-shirts and caps upon arrival. Lunch and refreshments were served during the day.
National Sport Day is part of Qatar National Vision 2030 and encourages all organisations in the country to celebrate this day by providing their staff and the public with some healthy lifestyle tips.
Qatar Airways encourages all employees to participate and incorporate healthy habits into their lives. “We are delighted to have more participants than in previous years. Another highlight of the event is the awarding of trophies and medals to winners in each of the competitions.
Qatar Airways has shown strong support for Qatar National Vision 2030 with their continuous sponsorship of local sporting events, including the Qatar open men’s and women’s tennis championships and the Tour of Qatar, among many others.
