Al Khor Team hit a one million Qatari Riyal jackpot by winning the Third annual Rowing Championship (Shawahif) held in Doha Bay yesterday.

Al Wakrah finished runners-up and bagged QR700,000 for their efforts while Laffan took QR500,000 for finishing third.
“We are thrilled to finish first because it was a tough event with many worthy contenders,” said Al Khor captain Sultan al-Muraikhi.
“We thank the QOC for organizing this wonderful event and we hope to continue winning when it is held next,” he added.
Al Wakrah, led by Zayed al-Mazroui, were ahead initially but lost their way in the wake of a fightback by Al Khor.
