HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday ratified the following Cabinet decisions:
1. Decision No 7 of 2015 on carrying out the general census of population, housing and establishments for 2015.
2. Decision No 8 of 2015 on extending the rent contracts for some locations and parts of locations rented for non-residential purposes.
3. Decision No 9 of 2015 on the application of Law No 24 of 2002 on retirement and pensions for Qatari employees of Qatar Business Incubation Centre.
Instruments of ratification
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued the following instruments of ratification:
1. Instrument of ratification to approve the draft memorandum of understanding in capacity-building of government officials between the Ministry of Administrative Development in Qatar and the Institute of Public Administration in Oman.
2. Instrument of ratification to approve the draft memorandum of understanding in the areas of training, development, consultation and other issues of the civil and administrative development between the Governments of Qatar and Oman.
3. Instrument of ratification to approve the memorandum of understanding for co-operation in the field of diplomat training between the Foreign Ministry’s Diplomatic Institute in Qatar and the Foreign Ministry’s Saud al-Nasser al-Sabah Kuwaiti Diplomatic Institute in Kuwait.
Emir appoints envoy to Italy
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued an Emiri decree appointing Abdulaziz bin Ahmed al-Maliki al-Juhani as ambassador to Italy.
Independence Day greetings sent
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani have sent cables of congratulations to the President of Gambia Yahya Jammeh on the anniversary of his country’s Independence Day. Meanwhile, in the Gambian capital of Banjul President Yahya Jammeh met HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari on the sidelines of Gambia’s celebration of its 50th independence anniversary.
Qatar, Azerbaijan sign MoU on human rights
Qatar National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) and Azerbaijan Foundation of Democracy Development and Human Rights Protection (AFDHR) yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on co-operation in the field of human rights.
NHRC Secretary-General Maryam bint Abdullah al-Attiyah and AFDHR representative Ahmad Shahidov signed the MoU.
