Emir issues decrees


HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has issued the following decrees:
1. Decree No 10 of the year 2015 to ratify the amended Charter of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) which was signed in Dakar on 14/3/2008.
2. Decree No 11 of the year 2015 to ratify the Statute of the Centre for the Co-operation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf for Emergency Management.
3. Decree No 13 of the year 2015 to ratify the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for co-operation in the field of health between the governments of Qatar and Albania, signed in Doha on 13/4/2012.
4. Decree No 14 of the year 2015 to ratify the agreement between the governments of Qatar and Albania on the regulation of the recruitment of Albanian workers in the State of Qatar, signed in Doha on 13/4/2014.
5. Decree No 15 of the year 2015 to ratify the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on consultation between the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation, signed in Madrid on 19/4/2014.
The decrees are effective from the date of their issuance and are to be published in the official gazette.

Qatar, France
ties reviewed


HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi met Anne Grillo, director of cultural, academic and research co-operation at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, in Doha yesterday.   
They reviewed the existing co-operation between Qatar and France in the field of education and higher education and discussed ways of enhancing it by developing the experiment of teaching the French language at a number of independent schools. They also touched on potential steps to encourage Qatari students to continue their postgraduate studies in accredited universities in France.
French Ambassador to Qatar Eric Chevallier attended the meeting.

Al-Marri meets French official

Attorney General HE Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri met the director of cultural, scientific and university co-operation in the ministry of foreign affairs of France, Anne Grillo, in Doha yesterday.
Talks dealt with ways of co-operation in the Francophone area, along with bilateral relations between Qatar and France.
The Attorney General briefed the French official on the nature of the national judicial system and the mechanism of separation of powers.

Indian embassy to
hold Open House


The Indian embassy will hold an Open House on February 26 to address any urgent consular and labour problems of community members in Qatar.
The Open House will be held from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. Written information on issues or cases to be discussed with the embassy can be given from 5.30pm to 6pm.
 This will be followed by a meeting with embassy officials from 6pm to 6.30pm.
