There is growing awareness among the country’s residents on key issues such as safety and security in their residential compounds, apartments and also in public places such as malls and hotels, said organisers of the Qatar Pool and Spa Expo and Conference 2015 yesterday.
Heights Exhibitions and Conferences CEO Waleed Wahba, whose company is organising the three-day exhibition, said the event starting at the Doha Exhibition Centre on March 24, has the participation of several firms providing specialised services for swimming pools, spa, landscaping, interior and outdoor decoration among others.
The expo would focus on essentials of swimming pools such as lights and other latest technologies. Several pool consultants and contractors are also expected to attend the event.
Wahba said the market for pools are growing across the GCC states and the local market has seen the arrival of several renowned companies in recent years.
While highlighting the importance of safety of individuals using swimming pools, the organiser said the Ministry of Civil Defence is giving top priority to the issue and authorities are keen to ensure that all safety features are in place, before such pools are used.
In his address, Ayman Maghrabi, general manager of Metro Pools, which is also involved with the exhibition as one of the sponsors, said the rising awareness among residents has contributed to a phenomenal improvement in technologies in the pool industry.
“As a result, a large number of skilled professionals are working at different levels in the industry,” he said.
Deputy Head of the Malaysian embassy Mohamed Nour Zaki said the mission and the Malaysian Trade Centre in Doha are happy that high quality Malaysian equipment are widely used in the country’s pool industry.
Gulf Times is the official media for the event.
