PM to inaugurate Police College today

HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani will formally inaugurate the Police College today.
The Prime Minister is also the chairman of the Supreme Council of the College. The ceremony will be attended by dignitaries including ministers, delegations from other countries, officers of the Qatari Armed Force and other security agencies, department directors and
military and civil officers.
Brigadier Dr Mohamed Abdullah al-Mohanna, director general of the Police College, said the college is now fully equipped to train military cadres from among the Qataris and those from the other GCC countries.
He said the college had finalised co-operation agreements with the UK Policing, Manchester Metropolitan University and Greater
Manchester Police.
The academic activities of the college had started last year with the first batch of students comprising 115 Qataris and
23 GCC and Arab nationals.
Major Jabr Hamoud al-Noaimi, director of administrative and economic affairs at the Police College, said the college was founded following the Emiri
Decree No.161 of 2013.
The course duration of the college is four years and the cadres will receive a Bachelor of Law and Policing degree after
completing the course.
Fahd Saeed al-Subaiei, director of the training department, said a military parade by the college students will be one of the highlights of the inaugural
ceremony.
