The Hospitality Development Company (HDC) has announced the participation of three of its restaurants in the upcoming sixth Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF), which takes place at the Museum of Islamic Art Park over four days from tomorrow.
HDC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Pearl-Qatar’s master developer, United Development Company (UDC).
Three of HDC’s restaurants that represent the world’s most popular cuisines, namely Al Tabkha - which serves Lebanese food, Pampano - with its authentic Mexican flair, and Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar from New York, will be positioned in Zone 3 of the festival alongside a multitude of other food brands within the same category.
Jawaher al-Fathaly, UDC marketing and advertising manager, said: “Our participation in such an international festival affirms the importance of co-operation between the private and public sectors to achieve Qatar’s strategic goals concerning the promotion of the tourism sector and festivals hosted in Doha to the region. This food festival is, therefore, an ideal platform to celebrate The Pearl-Qatar as a leading leisure destination for gourmet food, lavish shopping and memorable pastimes.
“The Pearl-Qatar currently houses more than 35 international restaurant and coffee shop brands operating in the Porto Arabia and Medina Centrale precincts.”
Throughout the festival’s duration, Al Tabkha will serve falafel and shawarma sandwiches for visitors on the go, in addition to variations of cold appetisers, choices of daily specials, desserts and drinks.
On its part, Pampano has prepared chicken flautas, nachos and ceviche in addition to creative juice concoctions of the spicy Dolce Picante, the Toro Negro and Virgin Mojito.
Chocolate Bar will indulge visitors with a variety of cupcakes, cookies (oatmeal, chocolate, peanut) and muffins (chocolate, blueberry, choconut) in addition to fondue as well as the signature hot chocolate, coffees and tea infusions.
HDC’s restaurants at The Pearl-Qatar cater to the multinational community living on the island and the neighbouring areas of Doha and include, in addition to the aforementioned, Megu, a Japanese eatery, Tse Yang, an award-winning Chinese restaurant, and Burj Al Hamam for upscale Levantine dining. More original concepts are in the pipeline.
