The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced a temporary closure of all lanes in both directions of East Industrial Road leading to Salwa Road from the Al Watan petrol station roundabout to the Khalid bin Ahmed intersection.
The road will remain closed from 8pm Monday until 6am on Tuesday. A similar closure will be implemented from 8pm on Tuesday to 6am on Wednesday.
The closure is to facilitate installation of a pedestrian bridge on the road.
Ashghal has requested motorists driving from the direction of the Al Watan petrol station roundabout towards the Khalid bin Ahmed intersection to use the service road, take a right turn to Bu Twaina Street, drive along Jeri Saleh Street and take a left turn on Street 226, which will connect them back to the service road leading to Salwa Road.
Road users coming from Street 1 and heading towards East Industrial Street must take a right turn to take Street 2 and then take another right turn to use the service road in the direction of Street 33.
During the closure, road users have been advised to avoid the area or use alternative routes as shown on the attached map.
Further, the authority has requested all road users to abide by speed limits and follow road signs to ensure their and other users’ safety.
