HIA to charge fee at long-term car park
Hamad International Airport (HIA) will introduce a payment structure for its long-term car park by the end of the month. In a statement, HIA said passengers could pay either by cash or credit card at any of the booths upon their exit from the car park. But vehicles parked before paid parking is implemented will not be charged of any fee. HIA, however, asked vehicle owners to refrain from parking for more than 60 days to avoid facing any legal action from the airport management. “In parallel with the introduction of parking fees, HIA will be increasing services in its long-term car park,” the statement said.

Meat samples sent for lab test
Authorities have collected samples from an Al Meera store after reports of rotten meat being sold there were brought to their notice, a statement issued by the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) yesterday said. The action followed after pictures of discoloured meat, purported to be from the butchery of the store, were circulated in the social media. The food inspection unit at the SCH has sent the samples for analysis to the state laboratory and results are expected in three days, it said. “Once we get the result, we will announce it publicly,” the statement added.
