165 Bangladeshis evacuated from Yemen reach home

A total of 165 Bangladeshi nationals who were evacuated from Hodeida and Saana in Yemen on April 15 and 19 by Indian Naval Ship (INS) Sumitra, reached Hazrat ShahJalal International Airport in Dhaka on two separate flights of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
A group of 136 Bangladeshi nationals including five women and five children who were evacuated from Hodeida on April 15 by INS Sumitra reached Hazrat ShahJalal International Airport from Djibouti
yesterday.
The ministry of foreign affairs arranged their food and other logistics supports during their seven-day stay in Djibouti while the government of Djibouti provided temporary accommodation for them, said a foreign affairs ministry statement in Dhaka yesterday.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam received them at the airport.
Another group of 29 Bangladeshis was evacuated from Saana on April 19 by IOM-chartered aircraft to Addis Ababa where they were taken care of by the regional office of International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in Cairo.
They arrived at the airport by a Jet Airways flight at 12.15pm from Mumbai.
