Under the Patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, who is also the chairman of the Supreme Education Council (SEC), the first four-day Conference on Education 2015, organised by SEC in co-operation with the Faculty of Education at Qatar University under the theme “partners in excellence” will start today at Qatar National Convention Centre.
Bahraini Minister of Education, Dr Majid bin Ali al-Nuaimi and his accompanying delegation arrived yesterday in Doha to attend the conference.
Al-Nuaimi was greeted upon arrival by HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council (SEC), Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi and senior SEC Officials.
Dr Ali bin Abdul Khaliq al-Qarni, Director-General of Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States also arrived in Doha to attend the conference. The rest of the participating delegations are expected to arrive later.
More than 200 private and independent schools along with 300 high-level Gulf, Arab and international educational and academic delegations will take part in the conference.
The conference will discuss a number of topics such as education reform, educational leadership between theory and practice, leadership and policies of education, learning, policy and educational issues, in addition to the development of education, research, evaluation, curricula, practice of different growth stages and contemplative practices.
