HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani met Sri Lankan Minister of Highways and Investment Promotion Kabir Hashim and his accompanying delegation yesterday.
They reviewed bilateral relations in economic, trade and investment fields and ways to support and strengthen them, in addition to aspects of co-operation between Qatar and Sri Lanka.
Qatar and Sri Lanka had signed a number of trade agreements such as the convention on economic, trade and technical co-operation signed in 2012 in Colombo, in addition to the convention on the protection and promotion of mutual investment, signed in Doha in 2012.
Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of understanding with Sri Lankan Chamber of Construction Industry.
The volume of trade between Qatar and Sri Lanka reached QR417.4mn in 2014.
