Vodafone among top three employers

Vodafone Qatar has recently been named among the top three employers of the year in the Mena region.
At the seventh annual Mena HR Excellence Awards 2015 held alongside the 10th Annual Human Assets Expansion Summit Mena, Vodafone bagged the second position for “Employer of the Year - Private Sector.”
Organised by Naseba, which offers business facilitation platforms for clients, the Mena HR Excellence Awards celebrate leading employers and HR practitioners for their outstanding achievements and drive for impactful human capital strategies. It gives all organisations in the Mena region an opportunity to showcase their initiatives and be recognised and acclaimed for excellence in the area of human capital management and development.
The “Employer of the Year - Private Sector” award category rewards an organisation for its commitment to supporting employees at all levels and excelling through talent retention, employer branding, nationalisation, learning and development, CSR activities, health and safety, and diversity and inclusion, all of which are key priorities for Vodafone Qatar, the company said in a statement.
Kyle Whitehill, CEO of Vodafone Qatar, said: “We are very honoured and proud to have received this coveted accolade, which is a solid testament to our unmatched best practices in attracting, retaining and developing a great workforce. Our employer brand, ‘We are at our best, when you are at yours’, reflects our belief that with the right people, who are motivated and inspired, as a company we can achieve great things.”
Mohamed al-Sadah, chief administration officer of Vodafone Qatar, said: “We are extremely happy to have received this industry recognition that culminates our outstanding achievements in the HR space and highlights our steadfast efforts to promote a unique working culture that falls strongly in line with our image of being a global company with local roots.”
The company launched The Vodafone Way in 2009. Anita Tomany, head of HR Centres of Expertise at Vodafone Qatar, said: “The Vodafone Way is how we do things at Vodafone and it makes us unique. Over the last three years, we’ve held numerous workshops to create a common understanding across the Vodafone leadership population of how it looks and feels to work and lead in The Vodafone Way.”
The Vodafone Way is underlined by the following traits: every Vodafone talent must be customer-obsessed, innovation-hungry, ambitious and competitive, reflecting the one company, global roots image and working with speed, simplicity and trust, and being an admired leader.
