Kahramaa officials at the new electricity workshop in Madinat al-Shamal.
Qatar Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has opened an electricity workshop at Madinat al-Shamal.
The workshop has been set up to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to the town, Kahramaa said in a statement on Sunday.
The facility will respond to emergencies. With its opening at Al Shamal, Kahramaa hopes to reduce interruption periods considerably.
It will also take care of issues concerning underground cables and overhead lines faults. It is equipped with all advanced technical tools, vehicles, and cranes.
The facility is expected to serve the northern areas including Al Shamal town, Al-Ruwais, Abo Zolouf, Om Jassim, Al-Arish, Al-Sulaimi, Al-Gharia, Al-Azba, Al-Mafer, and Al-Jasasia.
Kahramaa has cable maintenance workshops in Madinat Khalifa and Al-Rayyan, besides overhead line maintenance at Al-Shahanya and Al-Khor.
All workshops are equipped to deal with faults along with the main workshop in Abu Hamour.
