Qatar grouped with Oman, Lebanon for AFC U-19 qualifier

Reigning champions Qatar have been grouped with Oman, Lebanon and Kyrgyzstan in Group D for the AFC U-19 qualifier event.
The qualifiers for Group D will be hosted in Qatar between September 28 and October 6, 2015.
The draw for the qualifiers, held in Kuala Lumpur, divided 43 member associations, including finals hosts Bahrain, into two zones – the West Zone which has 25 teams and the East Zone with 18 teams.
Ten group winners and five best second-placed teams will qualify for the finals while hosts Bahrain received an automatic qualification (total 16 teams).
If Bahrain finish top of their qualifying group or one of the five second best-placed teams, the next (sixth) second placed team will qualify for the final competition.
The seeding for the draw was based on the rankings from the AFC U-19 Championship 2014 which was won by Qatar after they defeated DPR Korea 1-0.
Bhutan, Kyrgyzstan, Northern Mariana Islands, Sri Lanka, Syria and Timor-Leste, who will participate in the 2016 tournament qualifiers but did not take part in the 2014 edition, were added in the table as non-ranked teams.
Indonesia were also excluded from the seeding table following FIFA’s suspension of the Football Association of Indonesia.

Qatar up against Tajikistan, Iraq  for AFC U-16 spot

Qatar will host the AFC U-16 Championship qualifiers between September 12 and 20 this year for Group C, which pits them against Tajikistan, Iraq and Turkmenistan.
A total of 45 nations will participate in the qualifiers with the draw seeding based on the rankings from the last edition in 2014. The finals will be hosted in India.
Bhutan, who will not take part in the AFC U-16 Championship 2016 qualifiers, but participated in 2014, were removed from the seeding table for the draw. Indonesia were also excluded from the seeding table following FIFA’s suspension.
Bangladesh, Cambodia, Maldives, Mongolia and Timor-Leste, who will participate in India 2016 qualifiers, but did not take part in the 2014 edition, were added in the table as non-ranked teams.
Eleven group winners and four best second-placed teams will qualify for the finals, with hosts India receiving an automatic qualification (total 16 teams).
In case India finish top of their qualifying group or among the four best second-placed teams, the next (5th) second best placed nation will qualify for the final competition.
