Vodafone partners with Aspire for Ramadan activities

Vodafone Qatar has announced its partnership with Aspire Zone for the upcoming “Ramadan in Aspire 2015”, a highly anticipated event during the season, especially for sport enthusiasts.
This year, Aspire will once again offer fun and exciting  games for everyone to enjoy.
The wide range of activities will help keep everyone engaged and live the healthy lifestyle during the holy month. A  set of prizes await the winners and cool giveaways are up for grabs. The upcoming Ramadan in Aspire 2015 will  bring entertainment for families and everyone from all ages in Qatar with its Ramadan “Freej”, its Garangao celebrations, its Dome Walking Competition and plenty of other activities.
Hamad al-Hammadi, Government Relations Manager of Vodafone Qatar, said: “We’re very happy to be partnering with a highly prestigious organisation such as Aspire to bring this event to equal success this year. ”
Nasser Abdullah al-Hajri, Marketing Director of Aspire Zone Foundation, commented: “The Ramadan in Aspire’s Freej will feature a fanzone for visitors to enjoy all the traditional Qatari sports and games activities. The word “Freej” stands for neighbourhood in the GCC region. It usually has courtyard-style houses built connected to each other to keep residents in contact. The Festival’s Freej will help visitors know more about Qatar’s heritage in a unique atmosphere that encapsulates the traditions in the Gulf. The Freej will also feature shops, hand-crafts, a story-telling Majlis and food stations and will hold activities aimed specifically at charity.”
In addition to the Freej, the Ramadan in Aspire will organise the Dome Walking Competition, an indoor walking competition to encourage people to adopt brisk walking exercise along the corridors of the dome, accessible through the back entrance of Hamad Aquatic. The Dome will be open daily from 3pm to 5pm and from 8pm to 11pm. With the help of pedometers, visitors walking 10,000 steps a day during Ramadan, for a period of 20 days, will get the chance to win a prize. The top five dome walkers will receive gift vouchers. Every person who walks 20 days or more receives a step into health give-away pack.
Together with the Dome Walking Competition, Aspire will launch a Selfie Competition with one winner a week. Participants simply need to grab a Selfie at the Festival’s Freej and post it with the hashtag #FreejAspire or #AspireSelfie.
Also for photography enthusiasts, Aspire will organise a professional photography competition starting on the first day of the holy month of Ramadan and ending during its last week.  Aspire will award 25 winners by using their photos in Aspire’s future campaigns and across social media.
