HE the Attorney General Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri yesterday met US Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson and a group of his assistants in Washington.
They exchanged views on issues of common concern.
HE Dr al-Marri also met US Attorney General Loretta Lynch and exchanged views with her on issues of mutual interest between the US Department of Justice and Qatar’s Public Prosecution.
Qatar’s ambassador to the United States Mohamed Jaham al-Kuwari attended both meetings.
Focus on plight of children in conflict areas
Qatar has expressed its concern at conditions of children in areas of conflict, particularly in Palestine and Syria.
This came in Qatar’s statement during a Security Council session to discuss the UN Secretary-General’s report on children and armed conflict areas.
The statement added that Qatar prioritised guaranteeing education to children in areas of conflict, as part of the country’s commitment to education and its positive impact on children. This commitment was reflected in the Education Above All Foundation.

Ramadan dialogue programme
A Ramadan dialogue programme, organised by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, will be launched tomorrow at Imam Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab Mosque.
The three-day programme, which will host scholars, thinkers and preachers from various regions of the Muslim world, will discuss problems and issues of interest to the Islamic nation
It will also provide an opportunity to correct some erroneous concepts attributed to Islam and Muslims in some international media organisations.
