Lekhwiya Sports Club former Danish head coach Michael Laudrup expressed his appreciation to all the players for their strong efforts and performance during the last season. Lekhwiya won both the QSL and Qatar Cup titles and has since qualified to AFC Champions League quarter-finals.
Laudrup said in a message on the club’s website, “It was a big honour for me and my technical staff to be part of the one of the greatest seasons in Lekhwiya’s history after winning both the Qatar Stars League and Qatar Cup titles; we played a good style in some memorable, exciting and tough games.”
Laudrup added, “It is wonderful that we have qualified for the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League, we strived hard to reach this stage & I would like to thank the players for overcoming the difficulties we, we stayed focused and reached the peak of our abilities.”
Laudrup concluded: “I would like salute everyone in Lekhwiya Sports Club for the cooperation given to me, I urge everyone to maintain the status and mentality achieved by this team. They have become one of the most powerful clubs on the Asian continent.”
