Barcelona named overall champs of Aspire beach soccer

Two more tournaments reached their conclusion on Friday night as part of the Aspire Zone Foundation Ramadan Sports Festival. The Beach Soccer tournament finished and so did the Ladies Futsal Tournament, the first time this event had been included in the Ramadan Sports Festival programme. Both tournaments were extremely competitive and exciting. Following a closely fought game, team Barcelona were ran out winners of the Beach soccer tournament after beating Africa Stars 5-2.
In the third and fourth place playoff, Murack outplayed Al Gharafa Falcons 7-1 to secure third place overall.
Barcelona was awarded the tournament trophy by Abdulla al-Khater, Aspire Logistics Events Manager. He also handed out medals to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th placed teams as well as prizes including for best team which was awarded to Al Gharafa Falcons, a prize for top scorer awarded to Abdulla Jameel from Murack, a prize for the best goalkeeper awarded to Abdulla Abdulwahab from Barcelona, and a prize for best player awarded to Issa Khalfan from Murack.
After an extraordinary game in the Ladies Futsal, Al Khor were crowned champions. They achieved the victory after securing the highest number of points during a number of matches in the final stages. Team Qatar came second, and team Barcelona placed third as well as securing the prize of “best team overall” in the tournament.
