Taxi drivers in Qatar have received packs containing assorted food and beverages from Starwood Hotels & Resorts as part of its “Iftar for Cabs” campaign and ongoing commitment in observing the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement, Starwood Hotels & Resorts said the initiative gathered more than 40 of its hotels, including The St Regis Doha, in celebrating “a worthy cause” for taxi drivers.
During Iftar, hotel staff distributed packs containing food and beverages to taxi drivers and Starwood’s partner-drivers at the main entrance of each hotel.
Catering teams from each hotel prepared Iftar packs containing a diverse selection of food and drinks. Staff across various departments of the hotels, including catering, administration, and guest services spearheaded the “Iftar for Cabs” initiative.
The “Iftar for Cabs” campaign was conceived by Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 2010 and has since become an annual tradition for many taxi drivers throughout the region.
The initiative has been widely appreciated by its hotel owners, the community, and local transport authorities, the statement said.
