The health control section at Al Daayen Municipality intensified inspection drives at food outlets during the Eid al-Fitr holidays.
The campaign covered popular eateries, cafeterias, sweet shops, supermarkets, groceries and other related outlets.
About 90 inspections were carried out, with 10 warnings issued. Eleven violations were recorded, amounting to QR30,600 in penalties.
Meanwhile, several violations of cleanliness laws were detected during a search campaign conducted by the general control section at Al Shamal Municipality in the industrial area there.
Other violations such as overflow of sewage water, as well as cases of abandoned vehicles, were also recorded. The municipal inspectors pasted warning notes on the abandoned cars, asking drivers to remove them within a time frame.
