Medical staff attend workshop on gastrointestinal endoscopy
Al Khor and Al Ahli hospitals hosted a workshop for the development of the medical and nursing staff on the gastrointestinal endoscopy procedure in order to update them on the use of the new generation of endoscopes and medical equipment and keep them abreast with the current medical trends scientifically and practically.
The workshop was instructed by a professional team from Barzan Medical Supplies. It focused on the stomach bleeding during surgery of the digestive system and the use of Hemospray, a breakthrough in the reduction of any internal bleeding, as well as the use of the latest systems and endoscopy for the expansion of the digestive tract.
The medical workshop included also the practical use of Hemospray to stop ulcer bleeding safely and with success ratios of up to 100% by spraying a white metal powder on the bleeding locations unresponsive to treatment through a catheter inserted into the endoscope tubes.
Since there is a considerable percentage of patients that die due to severe recurrent gastrointestinal bleeding, this novel technology is used to reduce the mortality rates.
