Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will hold a three-way meeting with his US and Saudi counterparts, John Kerry and Adel al-Jubeir, during a working visit to Qatar today and tomorrow, Russia’s foreign ministry said in Moscow yesterday.
The ministry said Lavrov would also hold meetings with HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah.
It said Lavrov was visiting Qatar to discuss peace moves in Syria, Yemen and Libya, international consolidation against Islamic State, stability in the Gulf and relations between Russia and Qatar.
Oman’s Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah arrived in Doha yesterday to participate in the joint meeting of the GCC foreign ministers with Kerry.
