Qatar working with friends to find ways to end Syrian crisis

Qatar and Russia agree that the only solution to the Syrian crisis is a political one accepted by the Syrian people,  HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah said yesterday.
Speaking at a press conference after a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, al-Attiyah said Qatar is working with friends in Russia and the rest of friendly countries to find a solution to the Syrian crisis.
He added that he held with his Russian counterpart a consultation session where they discussed relations between Qatar and Russia and reviewed the situation in the region and ways to solve its crises through political means.
Al-Attiyah said the consultations touched on Syria, Iraq and Yemen, and the best ways for co-operation with  friends in Russia to find the best political ways out of these crises affecting the region.  
He described the Qatari-Russian ties as historic, pointing to the long-standing Arab-Russian relations. He added that Russia has supported Arab issues on many occasions, the Palestinian cause among them.
