Some 27 children of different nationalities participated in an arts workshop at Katara Art Studios on Sunday.
The workshop was the first in a series of special summer activities to be conducted at Katara Art Studios under the theme “Colour your summer”.
The activities, which include various arts workshops for children of different ages, will continue until August 20.
Guides and supervisors accompanied the participating children on a tour of the various facilities and buildings of Katara - the Cultural Village. The children got introduced to the principles of Islamic pottery and decorations and the various geometrical shapes involved.
Parents of the participating kids appreciated the initiative by Katara, describing it as "highly useful and engaging" for the children during the summer holidays.
Katara Art Studios will also hold a workshop on the basics of photography from Tuesday until August 27. Children can learn how to take pictures using professional skills at the workshop. Registration can be done through education@katara.net
