Stage set for QTA’s live concerts

Renowned artistes from the region are all set to entertain spectators in live concerts scheduled for  the last week of August at the Ali bin Hamad Al Attiyah arena (near Al Sadd Sports Club).
Half Yemeni- half Emirati artist Balqis Fathy and the popular Saudi artiste Rabeh Saqr will perform on August 27 while Asala Nasry and up-and-coming Moroccan star Saad Lamjared will be on stage on August 28 at the 7,700-capacity venue.
Fans can buy their tickets starting today (Monday) at Virgin Megastores for two live musical shows, which are part of Qatar Summer Festival 2015 organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA).
Ticket prices for the shows range between QR199 and QR1,499. Doors will open at 7pm and special seating areas reserved for women only will be available.  
“We are thrilled to have secured such a star-studded line up of singers, popular all around the Arab world, especially as our aim is to cater to visitors and residents seeking both culture and entertainment in a family-friendly environment suitable for all ages,” QTA’s festivals and events director Mashal Shahbik said.
The live shows will come at the conclusion of the month-long festival, which will also host the Doha Comedy Day on August 29. The show features a group of stand-up comedy pioneers from across the Gulf.
The comedians include Bader Saleh, Ibrahim Khairallah, Fahd Al Butairi, Ahmed al-Shammari and Ali al-Sayed. The event will be hosted by Qatari comedian Hamad al-Ammari.
QSF will continue until August 31 at the Entertainment City, targeting visitors from around the GCC with a range of entertainment activities for families in a festive, safe environment that reflects their culture and heritage.
This year’s edition is expected to drive up inbound tourism numbers with new attractions, special hotel rates and weekly raffle draws on valuable prizes.
