University sets up zebrafish facility
Qatar University (QU) has set up a zebrafish facility at the Biomedical Research Centre in collaboration with Qatar Cardiovascular Research Centre, headed by Prof Magdi Yacoub, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported. The project is being supervised by Dr Gheyath Nasrallah, assistant professor of biomedical sciences at QU College of Arts and Sciences. Dr Nasrallah said the zebrafish has various advantages, in terms of its biological traits, that make it an important scientific tool. Further, he stressed that it could be highly instrumental in the study of cardiovascular diseases in humans.

Deputy crown prince meets al-Attiyah
Saudi Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defence Prince Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz yesterday met with HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Major General Hamad bin Ali al-Attiyah who is on a visit to Jeddah. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations, especially in military field. They also discussed a number of issues of common interest.
