Doha
The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced closure of a 210m stretch of Al Shahama Street, between Bani Hajer roundabout and Al Afaf Street, from Friday early morning.
Traffic will be diverted to the Al Ghawth Street junction located after the existing diversion at the Bani Hajer roundabout.
The closure will help in the construction of the Dukhan Highway East project and continue for two and a half years.
Motorists using Al Luqta Street and heading from Doha towards Dukhan can skip the Bani Hajer roundabout and continue driving until they reach Al Ghawth Street, where they can take a right turn to reach the local areas of Bani Hajer (see map).
Ashghal will install road signs to advise motorists of the diversion. The authority has requested all road users to abide by speed limits and follow road signs to ensure their safety.
