PHCC to be main sponsor of QMED

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has announced its participation as the main strategic sponsor for Qatar Medical Exhibition (QMED), the biggest medical event of its kind in the country, which will be held from December 2-4.

At the event the PHCC will announce a number of new projects and initiatives, which will be a completion of the corporation’s vision in the establishment of integrated centre for healthcare services.

Executive Director of Corporate Communications in PHCC Maryam al-Hamadi said: “Qatar International Exhibition for Medical Devices and healthcare “QMED” represents the most prominent medical event in Qatar, and it comprises a group of prominent local and international medical companies. The exhibition provides opportunities for the medical institutions and companies to present their products and services in the State of Qatar, which in turn owns a market for medical products which is one of the fastest growing global markets”.

Maryam al-Hamadi said that on the occasion the PHCC will announce the important achievements made by the corporation in the national health sector.

She pointed out that the corporation is participating in QMED exhibition with a large pavilion in Doha Exhibitions Centre.

Al-Hamadi explained that PHCC is working through 21 Health Centers (HC) divided into three regions, the Central Region, the Western Region and the Northern Region, of which 13 HCs are located in Doha, while the rest are in other populated areas.

She said that the corporation is about to implement an ambitious, realistic and comprehensive plan to develop the PHCC health centres to keep up with population growth, pointing out that a total of 19 new health venters will be opened by 2019 - 6 during the current year and 13 between 2016 and 2018 including the renewal of two centres; Al Karanah and Ghuwairiya.

She said the new HCs will have advisory clinics, treatment rooms, control rooms, specialised clinics, dental clinics, Mother and Child Health Clinic and Communicable Diseases clinic, as well as emergency primary care and the Department of Diagnostic Radiology services (X-ray, panorama, ultrasound), and health education, as well as rooms for pre-marital check-ups, lab rooms and collection of blood samples.
