The inspectors of the health control section at Doha Municipality conducted 2,146 inspection tours in July at the food facilities within the municipality jurisdiction.
The inspections covered 3,401 food facilities, and 75 of them were booked for violating health and hygiene standards. Besides, they also found 426,972 tonnes of various foodstuff unsuitable for consumption and destroyed the same.
Last week alone, the inspectors conducted 402 raids at various food facilities, issued 43 violation reports and destroyed 236,583 tonnes of foodstuff unfit for consumption.
Meanwhile, the technical inspection section at Doha Municipality issued 21 evacuation orders for houses that violated the ban of labour accommodations in family residential areas. They also issued 42 evacuation decisions and three police reports and served 20 notices for evacuation.The section also received 28 related complaints.
