Al-Khalifa: Opening new markets for Qatari companies.

Qatar Development Bank has launched the International Tender Services, which aims at enhancing the exports sector in Qatar and opening new global markets for the country’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The new service has been launched in co-operation with French company “InfoTrade 2000,” a global leader in this field, QDB said in a statement.
The statement further said the service aims at providing Qatar SMEs with information on international tenders via e-mail and QDB’s website. The SMEs will also be able to get any information about tenders around the world.
QDB chief executive Abdul Aziz bin Nasser al-Khalifa said the new service also reflects QDB’s efforts in supporting and developing local non-oil export sector, and underscores the importance of opening new markets for Qatari companies through the bank’s export arm, Tasdeer.
“Qatar Development Bank is the only organisation in the region that offers this type of service. While companies in different regions of the world are investing to acquire such information, QDB is offering it for free to Qatar SMEs at the bank’s website. Qatar Development Bank’s strategy is to provide SMEs in Qatar with services that would help the development of the sector and the wider Qatari economy,” al-Khalifa explained.
He said InfoTrade 2000 provides information on around 20,000 tenders daily from all over the world. The company also provides information on previous and upcoming tenders.
Through the Tasdeer programme, QDB provides export financing and insurance coverage for Qatari exporters. In addition, the bank also provides appropriate counselling and participation in foreign international exhibitions. The bank regularly organises specialised training workshops for exporting companies to enhance its export efficiency through promotion and export development.
