Xavi meets official Barcelona fan club of Qatar

Ex-Barcelona legend and current Al Sadd captain Xavi Hernandez received a special welcome courtesy of the official Qatari chapter of FC Barcelona fan club.
Members of the fan club honoured Xavi prior to Al Sadd’s evening training session on Sunday.
The fan club unrolled and displayed a banner honouring Xavi and managed to spend time with the player, who gave several autographs photo opportunities.
Members of the Barcelona fan club explained that they would support Xavi by attending Al Sadd FC matches throughout the upcoming 2015/16 Qatar Stars League season.

Al Sailiya lose to German side Jahn Forchheim

Al Sailiya Sports Club lost in their first friendly to German club Forchheim 3-0. The Peregrines are currently away in Germany where they are holding their preseason training camp.
Head Coach Sami Trabelsi fielded most of his squad in order to identify their current fitness and technical level of performance.
Al Sailiya is scheduled to play their second friendly on Tuesday evening against German side RB Leipzig.
The Qatar Stars League side is then scheduled to play a further two friendly games on the 22nd and 25th of August but as pf yet the opponents have not been confirmed.

El Jaish conclude their overseas training camp

El Jaish returned to Doha on Monday after concluding their external training camp in Austria, during which the team played three friendlies as part of their preparation for the new Qatar Stars League season.
El Jaish defeated Austrian side LASK Linz by five goals, drew with the Italian outfit Helllas Verona 2-2 and lost their final friendly to Udinese 4-0.
The technical staff led by French Head Coach Sabri Lamouchi decided to grant the players 3 days’ rest, after which the team will resume their training sessions in Doha next Friday.
El Jaish will play a further two friendlies, the first will be against Qatar National Military team on August 28 and then against Al Shahania on Sep 4.

Vladimir Weiss to undergo surgery on his hand

Lekhwiya Sports Club Slovakian wing Vladimir Weiss will have surgery to his left hand tomorrow in Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital on Monday.
Weiss suffered a broken hand during a team training session three weeks ago.
Doctors have decided to insert a metal plate inside the player’s left hand. Weiss will miss Lekhwiya’s crucial Asian Champions League clash against Al Hilal on the 25th of August in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
