Qatar share index plunges 289 points

QNA/Doha

Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index dropped 289.51 points (-2.49) when the bourse closed trading at 11,345.53 points on Thursday.

The daily turnover increased to QR 375.32mn with a volume of 7,766,317 shares from 6,638 deals compared to QR 238.84mn with a volume of 5,215,636 shares from 3,577 deals on Wednesday.

The market capitalisation decreased to QR 599.76bn from QR 613.74bn registered on Wednesday.

Indices of all sectors ended in red.

Telecoms index dropped -5.27% to 965.86 points. Insurance index decreased -3.19% to 2,664.01 points and Real Estate index declined -2.59% to 2,664.01 points.

QSE Total Return Index decreased to -2.49 % to 17,635 points, QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index lost -2.81% to 4,402.56 points and QSE All Share Index dropped -2.32% to 3,032.89 points.

Of the 43 companies listed on QSE, investors exchanged shares of 42. Of them, one gained, 37 went down, while four were unchanged.
