TAMU-Q welcomes new batch of masters students

Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMU-Q) welcomed new masters degree students for the upcoming academic year at graduate orientation day at its campus in the Education City.
The event provided a comprehensive session for new graduate students about TAMU-Q’s two masters programmes in chemical engineering, in addition to an overview of the academic expectations at the university.  
The Office of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education Services at TAMU-Q invited new graduate students to the event to interact with current students as well as recently graduated students. Faculty and administrators were also present to provide information and support the incoming class.
Sabla Alnouri, a recent PhD graduate, said, “The graduate programme at Texas A&M at Qatar has provided me with an opportunity to be engaged in a unique learning environment, which helped intensify my core sciences and interpersonal skills, in a field I am passionate about.”
New graduate students learned about Texas A&M at Qatar’s graduate programme offerings, degree eligibility requirements and the resources offered including financial aid opportunities and flexible schedules.
Dr Ahmed Abdel Wahab, professor in the chemical engineering Programme said, “The quality of teaching and research offered at the university is absolutely outstanding. Thus, our graduate programme provides an unprecedented opportunity for the young generation to obtain an excellent graduate education.”
Hania Ayyash, manager of graduate studies and continuing education services at Texas A&M at Qatar, said, “ Our graduate students  learned about the academic expectations and general requirements, campus life and resources. They enjoy a flexible schedule; they may qualify for funding assistance and will participate in responsive research projects that contribute to Qatar National Vision 2030’s goal to build a knowledge-based economy.”
Applications for the Master of Science (MS) and Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) programmes are being accepted for the Spring 2016 semester and will remain open until 31 October 2015.
