Mannai Auto Group, official GMC agents in Qatar, announced that the GMC Sierra, with a wide legion of followers and its own dedicated owners club in Qatar, has outperformed sales figures recorded in previous years.
Available in 2015 with enhanced comfort and smarter technologies across the Sierra portfolio, Mannai Auto said the Sierra HD (Heavy Duty) version in particular has been a strong performer.
Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD models, including Sierra Denali HD, combine proven powertrains and technology with quiet, comfortable interiors, to produce a premium-duty breed of pickup.
Mohamed Helmy, Group general manager, Mannai Auto, said: “True Sierra enthusiasts are past the notion of owning merely functional pickups with a trailer hitch. The Sierra combines comfort, modern aesthetics and everyday driver capabilities with pickup traits such as hauling heavy loads with unmatched comfort and technology. The HD line is among the best performing on both fronts.”
Trim levels include a Sierra base model, as well as SLE, SLT and the top-of-line Denali. The distinctive Sierra Denali HD, is offered exclusively as a crew cab, matching do-it-all capability with an exclusive package of design and upscale interior amenities.
The interiors back up the bold exterior styling with greater refinement and functionality. Features standard on Sierra Denali include a Bose audio system and heated and cooled leather front bucket seats.
The high-tech interior also features an exclusive eight-inch customisable driver display in the instrument panel. The Denali also features a standard eight-inch Color Touch navigation radio with IntelliLink for Bluetooth-connected phones and five standard USB ports.
The new generation of Sierra HD pickups convey GMC’s new design aesthetic with greater technical precision and aerodynamics. In keeping with modern trends, SLT and Denali models also feature signature LED daytime running lamps.
The powertrains contribute to the new Sierra HDs’ greater payload and towing ratings than previous models, including the segment’s highest payload – 3,345 kilograms – and the highest conventional trailering rating – 8,890 kilograms. The maximum fifth-wheel/gooseneck trailering rating increases to 10,523 kilograms.
StabiliTrak electronic stability control is standard on all single-rear-wheel models and incorporates trailer sway control and hill start assist. Additionally, available cruise control and auto grade braking features help the vehicle maintain a set speed up and down grades, even when towing a heavy trailer.
Regular, double cab and crew cab models are offered across the lineup, with a rear-vision camera system standard on SLE, SLT and Denali, providing a view of items behind the vehicle, which is also extremely useful when lining up in front of a trailer.
Underscoring its appeal to discerning owners of full-size pickups, the 2015 GMC Sierra HD led the Large Heavy Duty Pickup segment in the 2015 JD Power US Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study released in late July 2015.
