Ooredoo’s ongoing network enhancement programme designed to provide “the best possible Internet experience” for its customers.

Ooredoo’s network enhancement project for its “Supernet” has made “significant progress” with the addition of 21 new sites across the country and the successful upgrade of 400 outdoor sites to 4G+, the telecoms company has said.  
In addition, Ooredoo said the company had upgraded 70 indoor sites for 4G, including some prime locations in leading malls, business centres, residential towers and hotels.
Ooredoo said its ongoing network enhancement programme was designed to provide “the best possible Internet experience” for customers, with high-speeds and superior performance on all 3G, 4G, and 4G+ devices. The Ooredoo Supernet was designed to evolve continuously to deliver “world-class quality service.”
Among the new sites, Ooredoo has installed brand new 4G+ towers in Al-Shamal City, Al- Khor, Wakrah, Wukair, Mesaieed, Sealine, and Khor Al-Udai.
Ooredoo Qatar chief operating officer Waleed al-Sayed said: “We are striving to build the best possible mobile Internet for Qatar, which is why we continuously invest in our network in order to support the next generation of services.
“This series of upgrades and new sites is part of the most ambitious programme of network enhancements in Qatar’s history, and we believe our customers will be truly impressed by the results.”
In March 2015, Ooredoo began to deploy small cells in popular network hotspots across the country, enabling the company to provide advanced voice and data services to its customers even in the most crowded indoor and outdoor areas.
To ensure customers have access to next-generation services wherever they are in Qatar, Ooredoo has also launched “Operation Desert,” which aims to improve coverage in Qatar’s popular desert locations significantly.
The upgrade was designed to provide a better customer experience on the Ooredoo network, as well as contribute to the Qatar National Vision’s aim to boost the knowledge-based economy, by enabling a host of new customers access to the financial, educational, and social services the Internet can provide, Ooredoo said.
