The Ritz-Carlton Doha has started its property-wide renovation which involves re-imaging and modernising 374 guestrooms, the spa, the VIP Club Lounge and a number of hotel facilities.
Part of the two-phase renovation project will include improving the ballroom and meeting spaces, as well as providing shades for each of the parking space.
General manager Erden Kendigelen told reporters yesterday that the first phase includes redesigning and complete transformation of the guestrooms and suites, spa, and fitness centre facilities, as well as the hotel’s VIP Club lounge.
“Once we finish, we will have the most sophisticated luxury guestroom product in the city of Doha and the largest gym facility in Qatar,” he said, as he showed the pictures of the new designs for the guestrooms and suites.
The second phase of the project will see the re-imagination of the lobby, restaurants, pre-function and ballroom meeting spaces, and outdoor recreational facilities, according to Kendigelen.
The Katara Hospitality development team, designer of award-winning hotels across the globe that oversees the re-imagination at Ritz-Carlton Doha, described the project as the most exciting state-of-the-art design.
“It will provide guests the absolute experience in modern residential luxury,” the general manager said.
Katara Hospitality, a global hotel owner, developer and operator based in Qatar, currently owns properties spread across three continents in Qatar, Egypt, Morocco, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Singapore and Thailand.
Kendigelen stressed that the renovation will not interrupt the hotel’s services and operations, “ensuring that every guest is still receiving the Ritz-Carlton experience.”
He expects the first phase to be completed in mid 2016 and the second phase in mid 2017.
Known as Qatar’s first luxury five-star hotel owned by Katara Hospitality, Ritz-Carlton Doha also hosts numerous local and international conferences and events.
“The guestrooms will introduce warm colours, textiles and prints incorporating floor parquetry, lightly hued paint colours, plush rugs and drapery, new contemporary furnishing, and latest state-of-the-art technology and lighting to create a comfortable and inviting look,” Kendigelen pointed out.
“We want to provide our guests exceptional memories which they will experience only at Ritz,” he added. “The hotel’s new design will reflect the property’s refined ambiance and distinct offering of luxury accommodations.”
Located at West Bay Lagoon District, Ritz-Carlton Doha fuses contemporary styling with classic Arabic and European design.
“The Ritz-Carlton is much more than just a hotel; we are thrilled to provide our local guests as well as affluent travellers an escape to where iconic design and modern luxury set the stage for exclusive facilities, one-of-a-kind experiences, and memories that lasts a lifetime,” Kendigelen added.
