The State of Qatar attaches great importance to climate change issues as part of Qatar National Vision 2030, in order to achieve balanced and sustainable development, said Assistant Undersecretary for Environmental Affairs Eng. Ahmed Mohamed al-Sada .
Al-Sada said this during his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the training workshop with the theme, “National reports under the umbrella of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change,” organised by the Ministry of Environment in collaboration with the GCC General Secretariat .
He noted that the workshop comes within the framework of exchange of experiences between Gulf states. This is part of Qatar’s efforts in supporting co-operation in the field of climate change, which was made known through its hosting of the 18th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change ( UNFCCC) in 2012.
