Aspire Logistics, a member organisation of Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF), has achieved a slew of key certifications.
In a statement, the organisation said it passed audits for quality management standards (ISO 9001) and environmental management standards (ISO 14001), issued by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), as well as for occupational health and safety standards (OHSAS 18001).
Aspire Logistics has achieved these standards “by establishing and maintaining a management system focusing on continued performance improvement and considering the requirements placed by all the interested parties”, the statement notes, adding that the certifications will help the organisation achieve consistent business processes and measurable, cost-saving and time-bound improvements
Mohamed Khalifa al-Suwaidi, acting CEO of AZF, and Ali al-Fehaida, acting director-general of Aspire Logistics, were recently presented with certificates by Selim Kseib, CEO of Bureau Veritas, and Makaram Abou-Fakherddine, business development team leader at Bureau Veritas, the company which led the inspection process on behalf of ISO.
Al-Suwaidi appreciated the efforts of the team at Aspire Logistics and its achievements in meeting these standards. He also expressed pride in the capabilities and capacities of Aspire Logistics, which enabled it to attain such high international standards in quality management, operational safety and environmental management.
He emphasised the need to continue applying the standards across the organisation’s different activities and events.
Kseib expressed delight at working with a global sporting institution such as AZF and congratulated its team for being awarded the three certificates. He explained that this was an achievement managed by only a few organisations, adding that it provided clear evidence of the foundation’s operational standards in these areas.
Aspire Logistics has in the past received these certificates and has renewed them to ensure that its operations meet the highest possible standards, the statement adds.
