Qatar Airways has been recognised as one of the world’s leading airlines at the recent Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Travel Awards held in London.
The airline was awarded the “Best for Business” accolade with readers commending the airline’s on-board service, on-time departure punctuality record and lounge facilities at both the London Heathrow Premium Lounge and Al Mourjan Business Lounge, Doha.
The airline was also named runner-up as the readers’ choice for “Leisure Long-Haul Travel” at the ceremony, which was attended by hundreds of industry leaders and travel specialists.
Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar al-Baker said: “We are honoured to be recognised as the best airline for business travel by the readers of Condé Nast Traveller. Providing an unrivalled service, offering exceptional in-flight and on-ground lounge facilities and focusing on our passengers’ priorities are our goals – and this award is yet another testament to achieving that.”
Qatar Airways is the global launch customer of the Airbus A350, which comprises a two-class configuration with 36 seats in business class in a 1-2-1 configuration and 247 in economy class in a 3-3-3 configuration, with up to a 32-inch pitch.
From 2016, the A350 will additionally operate to both Philadelphia and New York from HIA.
Qatar Airways also operates the world’s largest commercial airliner, the Airbus A380.
For passengers wishing to remain connected while travelling, Wi-Fi is available on the A380, A350, B787, A319 and select A320, A321, and A330-200 aircraft.
