Qatar Chamber’s (QC) Real Estate Committee has discussed the recent developments in the real estate market in the country, in particular the rise in rental rates and land prices.
The committee expressed concerns over the emergence of the phenomenon of amateur and unauthorised brokers and their increasing dominance over the local market. It said that such practices would certainly have its adverse impact on the overall national economy, especially increasing inflation rates.
QC board member Abdul Rahman Abdulghani headed the meeting of the committee at the QC headquarters. Other members of QC who attended the meetings include Mohamed Johar al-Mohamed and Rashid Hamad al-Athba, besides representatives from the Ministry of Justice.
The meeting stressed on spreading awareness among those working in the real estate market and increasing their understanding about proper and professional practices of buying and selling real estate. Meanwhile, the members agreed that more follow-up was needed to devise practical solutions for the various problems faced by the sector.
