The Elan Group has announced that a new branch of Novo Cinemas will open at 01 Mall in Abu Hamour, Doha, soon.
The move to open the new five-screen, 2,000sqm multiplex is part of Novo Cinemas’ strategic growth plan in the region, particularly Qatar.
"As the chain sets out to expand its reach to over 200 screens by 2016, the Elan Group has partnered with the Mohamed Hamad Al Mana Group of the Al Mana Malls property in Doha for this new endeavour in Qatar," according to a statement.
The deal represents Novo’s second entry in Qatar, following its flagship multiplex at The Pearl-Qatar.
Al Mana Real Estate launched 01 Mall in early 2014 and Novo Cinemas 01 Mall is set to open its doors with a "grand opening ceremony" planned for later this summer, the statement noted.
Jaber al-Ansari, CEO of Elan Group, said: “We are very pleased to join hands with the Mohamed Hamad Al Mana Group to bring the Qatari community a higher standard of cinema entertainment. We look forward to building on our partnership with Al Mana Group in many exciting projects to come.”
Abdul Aziz al-Mana, CEO of Al Mana Real Estate, added: “We are certain that Novo Cinemas will be a perfect match for our clientele and contribute to making 01 Mall not only a prime retail destination but also a purveyor of the best in entertainment. Al Mana Real Estate is currently developing five new malls in Qatar, allowing visitors to enjoy a unique experience at multiple destinations.”
Novo Cinemas launch plans are well under way across multiple locations, including Doha's North Gate Mall, three landmark sites in Dubai and the recently opened multiplex in Bahrain's Seef Mall Muharraq.
