Katara Hospitality wins special award

Katara Hospitality has won the Seven Star Special Award for “remarkable and exceptional achievement in the luxury hospitality industry”.
The award was presented at the Seven Star Global Luxury Awards ceremony held in Bali, Indonesia, on Saturday. Building on this accolade, one of Katara Hospitality’s properties in Doha, Sharq Village & Spa, also received an award at the ceremony.
Both awards were accepted by Salem al-Kubaisi, chief corporate services officer at Katara Hospitality, on behalf of Katara Hospitality and Sharq Village & Spa, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
The event was attended by leading travel, tourism and hospitality executives.
The Seven Stars Luxury Hospitality and Lifestyle Awards are considered to be one of the most exclusive in the hospitality and lifestyle industry. Winners are selected by the luxury panel members of the Seven Stars Luxury Hospitality and Lifestyle Awards and placed in competition with top properties in similar regions.
The special award segment honours are given directly to the winning company and are considered a lifetime achievement.
“This continued recognition highlights and reinforces our mission to invest in and develop some of the world’s most luxurious properties,” said Hamad Abdulla al-Mulla, CEO at Katara Hospitality. “We are proud to have been awarded this prestigious lifetime achievement award for Katara Hospitality as well as one of our unique properties in Qatar, Sharq Village & Spa, and we will continue on our journey to strive for hospitality excellence as we progress with our regional and global expansion.”
The sectors represented in the awards include airlines, hotels, spas, luxury residences and luxury experience, among others.
Wael Maatouk, general manager of Sharq Village & Spa, added: “We are truly honoured to have been presented with a special award from the Seven Star Global Luxury Awards in recognition of our achievements.“ Katara Hospitality continues to expand its portfolio in Europe with its latest announcement that will see the return of the Westin Excelsior Rome to its full glory.
The purchase brings Katara Hospitality’s portfolio of properties in operation or under development to 35 and marks its third owned hotel in Italy.
