Father Emir condoles UAE vice president
HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday expressed his condolences to UAE Vice President Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, who is also the prime minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on the death of Sheikh Rashid bin Mohamed bin Rashid al-Maktoum. The Father Emir did so during a visit to the UAE where he also conveyed condolences to members of the Emirati ruling family. The Emir’s Personal Representative, HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, accompanied HH the Father Emir on the visit. Page 28

Dar Al Rayyan wins poultry project tender
The Technical Committee at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce to encourage investment of the private sector in the field of food security has announced that Dar Al Rayyan Company for Investment has won the tender for a comprehensive poultry project. The company had submitted a bid of QR1.3bn to get the licence for the project in a bidding process which saw 34 national companies taking part.

Eid holidays to start on Sept 23
The Emiri Diwan yesterday announced that holidays for Eid al-Adha would begin on Wednesday (September 23) for government offices and ministries. Government employees will report back to work on September 30.
