Three Nepalese organisations elect working committees

The new working committee of Myagdi Welfare Society.

Tanahu Service Society (TSS), Myagdi Welfare Society (MWS) and International Nepalese Literary Society (INLS) recently organised general conventions to elect their new working committees.
TSS’s eighth general convention was chaired by President Dhan Bahadur Pariyar at Top Form Restaurant. The chief guest of the programme was Purna KC, gulf co-ordinator of Non-Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA).
Established in 2004, TSS is one of the oldest organisations of Qatar-based Nepalese community. During the convention programme, general secretary Dil Bahadur Ranabhat elaborated about the work and activities carried out by the organisation in the past one year.
TSS’s new working committee, unanimously elected in the convention, will be led by Toya Nath Poudel. Padam BK was elected the vice chairman, Dil Bahadur Rana Bhatt the general secretary, Balram Gaire the secretary, Deepak Pariyar the treasurer, and Resham Tamang the co-treasurer.
The MWS convention was also its eighth and was held at Rotana Restaurant. Resham Shahi presided. Established in 2003, MWS represents the Qatar-based Nepalese from western district of Myagdi.          
The new MWS working committee will be led by Ganesh Shrestha. Kiran Jung Shahi is the new vice-president, Bal Krishna Acharya the second vice-president, Tilu Sharma the general secretary, Raju Poudel the secretary, Chitra Bahadur Tokhal the treasurer and Yam Bahadur Nepali the co-treasure. Bal Krishna Khatri, Damar Hamal, Rudra Bahadur BK and Himal Subedi have been elected the senior members, while Lila Chokla, Min Bahadur Nepali, Debendra Garbuja, Bhim Bahadur Thapa, Lila Bahadur BK, Meen Bahadur Karki, Ramesh Subedi and Manak Baruwal are the executive members. Nanda Garbuja and Bikram Karki were elected as patrons, Resham Shahi as chief adviser, and Ramesh Poudel and Purna Chackal as advisers.
INLS’s general convention at the Top Form Restaurant was its fifth. Journalist Ganesh Banjade was the guest of honour. The gathering also observed the 150th Moti Jayanti (remembrance of Nepalese poet Motiram Bhatta), and held a ghazal competition, which was won by Rup Rasaili.
The new INLS working committee will be led by President Tirtha Sangam Rai. Shyam Raj Ranabhat was elected the general secretary, Nirajan Pratap Luitel the secretary, Mani Poudel the treasurer, and Innocent Rajan the co-treasurer. Maheshwor Nepal, Lekh Karki, Bindeshwor Thakur and Hari Binod Adhikari were elected as members of the new working committee.
