HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani on Thursday morning performed the Eid prayer at Al Wajba praying area.
HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani and HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa al-Thani took part in the prayer along with a group of Their Excellencies Sheikhs, ministers, ambassadors and citizens.
Dr. Thaqeel Sayer al-Shammari, Court of Cassation judge and Supreme Judiciary Council member, who led the prayer, delivered the Eid sermon in which he urged the praying crowd to love and tolerate each other and to benefit from Eid al-Adha in doing good deeds, maintaining ties with kinship and following the path of Prophet Muhammad.
He also called on Muslims to seize Eid as a showing of the unity and cooperation of the Muslim nation, to support the oppressed and to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque from the violations.
Scores of worshippers performed the Eid prayer in mosques and praying areas across the country.
Emir receives well-wishers
HH the Emir received well-wishers at Al Wajba Palace on Thursday afternoon on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. Among them were sheikhs, ministers and citizens.
They expressed sincere congratulations to HH the Emir on the blessed occasion.
The reception was attended by HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani.
