Eid al-Adha festivities continue to attract large number of people as various malls, parks, beaches and entertainment centres are overflowing with hundreds of residents and visitors.
Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) continued with various entertainment programmes in different malls and other places on Friday. Katara, Souq Waqif, Pearl Qatar and Aspire Zone among other places had large number of people taking part in a number of fun-filled activities. The programmes started at most venues from 4pm.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) organised programmes at two locations on Friday. There was a cultural programme for the Pakistani community at Al Wakrah and another one at Al Khor for the Nepalese community as well as the residents of Al Khor and Ras Laffan.
QTA events at various malls continued to attract people all across the city. There were special programmes for children and families at these venues. Most of the places had special programmes for children. There were also health awareness and general safety messages during the programme.
At Hyatt Plaza, there was a large crowd attending various programmes. The Jungle Zone, a popular hangout for kids, at the venue, was all filled up with kids right from the morning. Long queues of customers could be seen at the eateries of the food court all through the day. There were also a good number of visitors from the neighbouring countries taking part in the festivities.
Speaking to Gulf Times, Moahmed Sohail, operating supervisor at Hyatt Plaza, said the centre has been full of people right from the afternoon on the first day of Eid. He said the whole place was buzzing with families and children.
“Today our programmes started with Play D’oh, a special stage show exclusively held at Hyatt Plaza. The programmes at the venue are attracting a large number of people. In addition, hundreds of kids are lining up at the Jungle Zone. Certainly, the festivities are at the peak and everyone, especially children are enjoying very well,” he added.
The festivities will continue until Monday at all the malls. Eid celebrations are being held at six prominent malls in the country. At other places, some of the events will continue until the seventh day of the Eid.
