HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani have sent cables of congratulations to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of his country’s Independence Day.
The Emir, Deputy Emir and the Prime Minister also sent cables of congratulations to Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades on the anniversary of their countries’ Independence Day.
Doha to host Gulf Economic Forum
GCC Chambers Union, in association with Qatar Chamber and Exicon International Group, will organise the Gulf Economic Forum on October 25 and 26 in Doha.
Officials representing GCC ministries of commerce, industry, finance, planning and economy will participate in the event along with chairmen and board members of chambers of commerce and related organisations, institutions and offices as well as researchers in the economic, social and political fields.
Held under the theme of enhancing the contribution of the Gulf private sector in economic development, the forum aims to serve as a platform for the private sector to deliver its vision on economic development in the region and removing obstacles hindering commercial exchange between GCC states.
The forum will review regional and international challenges facing GCC states in light of the economic crisis, regional developments and the decline in oil prices.
Precautionary warning
Qatar Armed Forces General Command has announced that the marine shooting range near Fasht Al-Hadid will be active from October 11 to December 11 from 6am to 5pm. The General Command said in a statement that the range is located 40km to the east of Mesaieed near Fasht Al-Hadid and extends to the south of Shraouh Island. The General Command warns those who frequent the area to take precautions for their own safety.
